Peta Harding, Manchester (OnLine Language Trainer Course participant)
I have really enjoyed the course & appreciate your constructive ( & sensitive thank you!) feedback & help throughout the course.
It was something that I'd never experienced before, so I enjoyed the challenge. I'm a 'dyed in the wool' face to face trainer, so my expectations were quite low to begin with. Thus it became a very pleasant experience & it exceeded my expectations drastically.
One of the main problems with our Management training is getting all of the delegates able to attend, especially on residential courses, so OLT solves this problem.
As we all know, people have different learning preferences, & some will participate well in a classroom environment, whereas others won't. OLT encourages everyone to contribute, & even the most shy will do so as it isn't so 'scary' as speaking out in class.
The learning experience was of a good quality in that the weekly discussion points & questions were obviously well thought out & the learner development was well structured.
We were encouraged to contribute & given constructive feedback regularly, which I feel is vital, otherwise we may have felt 'left alone to get on with it'. The quality really depends upon the tutor.
I felt that I was given the right amount of tutor support, neither too often nor too infrequent. The quality of it was spot on for me. I wanted someone to encourage me, let me know that what I was contributing was correct & of sufficient quality, & generally be available to me if I wanted someone's ear to bend.
The feedback was particularly inspiring; You obviously saw my lack of confidence & gave me just the right feedback to encourage me to continue. This must be particularly difficult when you haven't met all of the delegates & you have to be everything to everyone - a good skill to learn!
