Overview

In recent years the role of the team leader and how teams work together has become increasingly important and essential to business success.
This online course is suitable for Team Leaders who maybe practitioners or operators working alongside other team members.  

Aims
The course aims to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours of both practising and potential team leaders. We will gain accreditation by an QCA (The British Qualifications & Curriculum Authority) approved insttitution, if required.


Objectives
By the end of the course participants will be able to:

·       identify the essential skills of effective team leadership
·       further develop team leading and communication skills both with individuals and groups.
·       explain the need for effective working relationships both within the team and outside the organisation
·       identify the importance of maintaining information and how to use it effectively for communication purposes.
·       monitor and evaluate the performance of a team(s) and identify areas for further development.

Content
Introductory Workshop - Week1
This workshop aims to introduce participants to  
·       the online programme content and fellow course members
·       practice some key team working and communication exercises.

Module 1 – Communicating with People – Weeks (2- 4) This module covers the essentials of effective communication within the team and with others outside of the team. It also looks at the importance of maintaining and using information effectively
.
Module 2 – Leading People in Teams – Weeks (5-7) This module explores the team leader’s role in building teams, developing and maintaining effective working relationships and networks.

Module 3 –Team Leading Skills - Weeks ((8-10) This module is about identifying the essential skills of effective team leadership. It aims to equip participants to develop and organise themselves to deal with issues of working relationships, change and valuing diversity.

Module 4 – Getting the Work Done – Weeks (12-14) This module is about planning, organising and monitoring a team’s work to ensure customer requirements and targets are achieved in a healthy, safe and ethical working environment.

Final Workshop - Week 15
The final workshop requires course participants to give the short presentation about their individual projects and to review the course as a whole.
Total Course Duration = 15 weeks

Course Assessment & Certification resulting in a Certificate In Team Leading, is based on completion of:
·       a work-based project
·       tasks and knowledge questions for each module
·       the course programme including all of the modules
           an online Personal Development Record.
